Today we’re featuring a very special post about two of the newest brands to hit BeeWiseGoods -- BullSnaps by Eli Jennings (age 10) and On the Hook by Lyla Jennings (age 7)!
BullSnaps is a line of fashionable leather cuffs made from recycled belts, and On the Hook is an earring line made from hypoallergenic, nickel free hooks and delicate charms. If their last name sounds familiar, Eli and Lyla’s mother, Katie Jennings, is the owner of Dictionary Hill, a collection of beautiful reclaimed wood art pieces and air plant holders. Apparently, talent and creativity runs strong in this family! But don’t take it from us, let’s hear what Eli and Lyla have to say about their new business ventures…
BWG: What was the inspiration/motivation for starting your own brands?
-- Eli: Seeing my mom sell at the shop made me want my own business, then Gabe helped with the idea of the cuffs.
-- Lyla: My mom and brother had their own business and I wanted one, too. I asked Gabe if there was something I could do and she told me about charm earrings. Picking out which charms to use was my favorite part.
BWG: What do you enjoy most about being an entrepreneur?
-- Eli: I like building and creating things on my own. I like when people wear something I made.
-- Lyla: Having fun making the earrings.
BWG: Can you tell us a little bit about your products?
-- Eli: I make leather cuff bracelets out of recycled leather belts.
-- Lyla: I make charm earrings with bananas, tanks, guns, cats, dragonflies, basket ball hoops, owls, cameras, dogs, guitars, birds, ice cream cones, ballerinas and a couple other ones that I can't remember.
BWG: Any plans to expand your brand/product line in the future?
-- Eli: I may get different color snaps to go with different color leather.
-- Lyla: I want to make more different types of charms...like a little heart.
Aren’t these kids just great? Honestly, we can’t wait to see what exciting things the future holds for them. If you haven’t checked out their brands, what are you waiting for? Get down to the shop today!
